Alaska born, Georgia raised, I make myself at home anywhere I land.
Receiving a Masters of Science through an academic partnership between the United States Peace Corps and Illinois State University, I earned my degree in Political Science while simultaneously serving in the Kingdom of Morocco. Specializing in youth and community development, I put my education and interpersonal skills to the test as I focused on capacity building in my rural village. Learning Moroccan Arabic was only the first step to gaining the trust of those in the community I sought to partner with.
Open to all people and cultures, my time in Morocco has forever changed me. Recognizing the uniqueness of my experience living in an Islamic society for an extended period of time, I strive to emulate the resiliency, hospitality, and resourcefulness the Moroccan people showed me in their everyday lives.
